My Weekend With S-Shady

This weekend Sandy, Mary (another work acquaintance) and I went to Denali State Park. 
Fun was had by all....

Me with Mary and Chester after three and a half hours of driving we finally got there!

Well we were kind of there - actually we still had 30 miles of driving into the park....but thats ok because the views were amazing 

 In the Distance is Mt. McKinley, the highest mountain in North America - It's so big that it creates it's own weather and so it's rare to be able to see all of it with no clouds....We were above the tree line so everything looks a little bare..but actually it was sunny with perfect weather for being outside!

Sandy, Mary and Chester....We hiked for 3 hours with plenty of snack, puppy treat, and potty breaks

It was every hunter's dream we saw moose, bear, caribou and dall sheep...and all I managed to take a picture of was this bird 

On the way home we stopped to say What-Up to the maiden name

Moral Of The Story: Never turn down a chance to experience Alaska....a road trip and the great out doors is always good for the soul.
